RV WEB NETWORK FAQS
September 1999
I started out in my web site endeavors by subscribing to some
of the free page services for about a year. These proved to be problematic in
terms of access and maintenance. I still have the remnants of one of my pages
at www.qsl.net which is , quite frankly, providing a great service to the Amateur
Radio community. I just simply had too much stuff scattered everywhere and needed
to get it all in one place.
About The RV Web Network:
I never intended to to get rich on this web site but I needed
a good fast provider that would allow me to control my environment and enough
server space to expand as required. I am attempting to create a sort of co-op
environment where the pages that I host more or less cover my annual hosting
cost's with a little left over to partially pay for an ISP that allows me fast
reliable service to keep the site maintained. So far I am still in the red but
I may break even next year.
I have recently decided to change the look and function of The
RV Web Network from a dedicated host provider to a Technical Information Resource
Library which could utilize a large portion of my currently available server
space. I will continue this effort as long as I am able to recover enough of
my expenses to cover most of my recurring costs.
To start this process I moved an older technical page from qsl.net
and will be expanding it to cover most of the other technical stuff I have in
other pages. I have licensed a comprehensive Forum software package from
Netbula that will allow me to provide multiple Message Boards and/or Guest
Books.
If you have a business, club or personal page that needs a home,
I can offer some great deals on fast, reliable service at reasonable cost. I
enjoy doing web page design and usually work cheap as long as I don't have to
meet any short term deadlines. I can supply you with virtually anything you
need from a fully functional dedicated e-mail address at www.rvweb.net to your
own virtual domain where you have full FTP access and can do your own page design.
I absolutely WILL NOT host or reference ANY pornographic material. Weird political
organizations or scam artist's can also find another home.
If you have a technical subject or topic that you think would
be of interest to the RV community, contact me and we can probably get it up
here somewhere. You may have to act as online advisor if it is too far out of
my field of experience.
